The areas of expertise we excel in
Dual Experience and Knowledge
Our experienced IT attorneys have not only theoretical, but also long-time experience and know-how from the field of IT. This enables us not only to keep up with technological progress, but also to observe and understand from two angles – both (security)-technical implications as well as legal risks and requirements. You as a company can benefit from this double efficiency and corresponding know-how from a single source.
Europe-wide data protection
We as a German lawyers office are located in the heart of Europe and are thereby ideally positioned to deal with the issue of data protection and IT security in cross-border data flow. Our decade-long experience and work as data protection officers in many major companies in Europe makes us one of the leading lawyers offices in this specialized field. Attorney-at-law Robert Niedermeier, one of the heads behind CYBERLEGAL, looks back in the meantime on 25 years of experience in this field and his clients include some of the most well-known and largest companies in the world.
Unparalleled 25 Year Track Record in Data Privacy and Data Security
Even before today’s World Wide Web existed and electronic data exchange only took place between research facilities and within a few major companies, we were already dealing with the topic of data protection and data security. CYBERLEGAL can offer your company a great amount and range of experience in this specialized field that we have and that we can offer your company from a single source.
Binding Corporate Rules
Binding Corporate Rules, or in short BCR, are internal, company-wide regulations that regulate the handling of personal data in European companies in a clear and legally binding way. CYBERLEGAL develops rules individually, comprehensively and tailored to the requirements of your company thereby allowing you to exchange data with companies and associations in third countries in a manner conforming to the law. We ensure correct and consistent implementation with pre-defined controls and audits and in addition implement complaints procedures. Data protection officers and involved employees are trained accordingly and are kept up to date about continuous communication within an internal network.
Data Protection Counsel for Medical Sciences
In modern medicine, huge volume of data are in the meantime accumulating and these are of course always personal data. In diagnostics and therapy in particular and distributed over many specialist fields and departments, a huge need for fast and secure data exchange has arisen bringing with it completely new problems and tasks both technologically as well as also legally. We help those who are responsible in clinics and research facilities to keep an eye on both sides of these challenges and to design the respective interfaces and processes in such a way that they meet the requirements of all laws and regulations with regard to data protection, IT law, IT security and IT compliance. For the last 15 years, we have been ensuring this as externally appointed data protection officers in clinics and medical facilities.
